Lauren Eyler is a UCSF general surgery resident. She has a BS in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from Yale University, an MPH from UC Berkeley, and an MD from UCSF.

Lauren's public health and research focus is on global injury surveillance with an emphasis on tracking health disparities and improving access to care for underserved communities. For her MPH thesis, she developed an algorithm for defining an improved metric of economic status that is feasible to assess in trauma registries in low-resource settings. You can download her Economic Clusters app from the CGSS website if you are interested in measuring economic disparities in your trauma or other disease registry. Her other global health experience includes analyzing patterns of musculoskeletal injury at Ugandan district hospitals and teaching CPR and first aid to community health workers in rural Nicaragua.
